We are wild about the vineyards we use.

We carefully select our vineyards based on the quality of grapes and the unique character they impart to our wines. Each of our wines is made from a single variety with grapes from a particular vineyard. This is because we believe that grapes reflect the characteristics of the land on which they’re grown. We pride ourselves in crafting wines that express the flavors of their origin, or “sense of place,” or what the French like to call “terroir.”

“The relationship between winemaker and grower is one of the most important relationships in the process of creating a wine.”

- Chris Lubberstedt

Lamonti Vineyard

COLUMBIA GORGE AVA | UNDERWOOD, WA

Planted on the Washington side of the Gorge, the vineyard is perched at an elevation of 1400ft, close to the edge of the precipitous drop down to the Columbia River. A sweeping southern exposure provides ample heat from the summer sun, while evenings are cooled by mountain air flowing into the Gorge. Ample snowfall in the winter and hot days in the summer, combined with the volcanic loam soils, intensify the aromatic profile of the fruit. The vineyard’s owner farms the plots himself, using responsible and organic methods.

Dauenhauer Farms Vineyard

WILLAMETTE VALLEY AVA | HOPEWELL, OR

In the Eastern shadow of the Eola-Amity Hills, this vineyard was planted by the Dauenhauer family in the 1980s as an extension of their other agricultural endeavors. Soils here are deposits from the Missoula floods that filled the Willamette Valley during the last ice age. The Gamay block is dry farmed without using herbicides. We lease one acre and manage it to produce the greatest varietal expression.

Julon Vineyard

EOLA-AMITY HILLS AVA | WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OR

This growing region is unique for the coastal winds that blow through the Van Duzer corridor. This results in fruit clusters that are smaller and thicker skins with high levels of tannin. The warmer maritime influence cools off at night which aids in acid retention. Block 5, which is pinot noir (Pommard clone), is southwest facing, at 360ft elevation. Soils here are marine sedimentary. We lease one acre that is farmed to our specifications.

Risdall Ranch Shafer Vineyard

WILLAMETTE VALLEY AVA | FOREST GROVE, OR

The Shafer Vineyard is just northwest of Forest Grove, in the foot-hills of the coast range mountains. It was planted on its own roots in the silty clay loams of the Tualatin River Valley. The block sits at 350ft elevation with a southwest open exposure. The vineyard is dry-farmed and sustainably worked by the Risdall Family.
